The Griffith Observatory

The View Speaks For Itself

The Griffith Observatory is located in Griffith Park in the Los Feliz area of Los Angeles, California. I live close by and this is a place I frequently visit. The view is spectacular. I personally prefer to go on a weekday. If you are taking a weekend trip here be prepared to sit in some traffic, search for a parking spot for a while and once you find one you may need to walk to get to the site; especially if the weather is nice. Another option you have is to take a DASH public bus to the observatory, on a busy day it might simplify your visit. Just a heads up, they are closed on Mondays. Inside the building there are space and science exhibits to explore. One of the best things about this place, on top of all the interesting stuff you get to see, is that admission is free, but you do have to pay for parking.

There are also lots of other fun things you can do around this area if you want to make a day of it. For instance, you could take a hike on one of the nearby trails. There are parks for children if you drive down near Trails Café. I like to have breakfast at Trails Café from time to time. There is the Southern Railroad, it’s a mini train ride mainly for kids but anyone can get on if you’re in a playful mood, there are pony rides right next door too. I love to bike around here. If you can catch a show at the Greek Theater that’s always fun. Have brunch at Mustard Seed Cafe. Or keep it simple and enjoy the sights, get lost in thought and look out over the city for a while. If you are in L.A. you should definitely experience this Historic Monument.

Next topic on my posting agenda will be about my many trips to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. I have been there around six to eight times. I’ve kind of lost track. So come back and visit my site pretty please with a cherry on top. Click the follow button and you will be updated every time I have something fun for you to read or look at.
